Charliemadison Behind the Scenes

A Look Back at April 2024

April was such a welcome arrival, especially the lovely spring weather that allowed us to get outside the studio and enjoy walks around the neighborhood, read out back on our deck, and watch our favorite Maryland Terps baseball team play at home. We were extra busy in the studio during April with the release of over 20 new bracelets to our shop - whew! Join us behind the scenes of our studio and home in April.

April Behind the Scenes Highlights: Business

- We shared the story of Amy Schweizer, Marine Corps spouse, Mom of three, and the Founder and Director of Tiny Troops Soccer, in our Meet a Milspouse interview series.

- Featured a dear friend in our Empowering Entrepreneurs series - Melissa Camilleri, the co-founder of a company called Stand for the And Education Co.

- Launched our new Rewards Club with more options to redeem your points, including some exclusive Charliemadison swag available only to Club members.

- It was a very big month for new releases, including four Dream Big Bracelets and the Foundations Collection, featuring simple and classic stackable styles for women and men.

- We were proud to be one of the sponsors for the annual Police Wife Conference for the third year in a row - hosted by the Proud Police Wife.

This month's Community Favorite Bracelet is the Military Family Mini Bracelet in Green - lots of military families loving this one in April!

April Behind the Scenes: Our Personal Faves

Wendy’s April Favorites:

- In the Kitchen: Made a batch of Jacques Pepin's Anchovy Spread. We are anchovy lovers so this was such a delicious treat. We served it on little cheese squares like the recipe says, but saved the leftovers (it made a lot) and tossed it with warm pasta for an easy dinner the next night. Yum!

- Last summer I purchased three pairs of Athleta's Retreat Linen Wide Leg Pants and absolutely adored them. So when I saw their new colors for this year, plus the same linen fabric in Retreat Linen Shorts, I took advantage of a really great sale to grab a few new colors for this summer. They are so comfortable and they look fabulous on!

- I absolutely couldn't forgive myself if I didn't share the most AMAZING bralettes I discovered through a favorite blog. If you're like me and have sworn off underwire bras for life, you should give the Harper Wilde Bliss Bralettes a try. Top quality, incredibly comfortable, supportive (yes, even for us big busted ladies ;-)), and lots of fun colors.

- Grateful for: Beautiful spring weather, gorgeous trees, and flowers in bloom that have encouraged me to get out and walk in our neighborhood every day.

Madison’s April Favorites:

- With the help of my boyfriend, we got creative making lifestyle content for our new Foundations Collection, which is by far one of my favorite collections we have created. For those of you that know men that love to wear bracelets, tell them about our new mens bracelets. Ever since I showed my boyfriend the mens bracelets we designed he has worn them every day and raves about them!

- Wendy and I had the fun opportunity to attend the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Veteran and Military Spouse Entrepreneur Summit. At the event Wendy spoke on a panel about her experience as a Military Spouse business owner. She shared her journey as an entrepreneur, the process she went through to obtain two trademarks our business, and gave advice for other military spouse business owners deciding to start their own businesses. We ended the summit at one of my new favorite fast casual restaurants for a late lunch, it's called DIG and located in Georgetown. Their aren't too many locations throughout the U.S. but do yourself a favor and go if you ever have the chance to!

- Had a few opportunities to watch the Maryland Terps baseball team in action and spend some quality family time with Charlotte.

 - There are only a few skincare brands that I trust with my sensitive skin, one of which is Earth Harbor. I recently repurchased a few of my die hard favorite products from them including the Vitamin C Serum, Blue Crush Clay Mask, and Mermaid Milk Moisturizer, which I can't recommend enough. They use only the best clean ingredients for their products which my skin thanks, plus they are a women owned business which we love supporting!
