In case you didn’t already know, part of our mission here at Charliemadison Originals is giving back 5% of your purchases to organizations whose mission aligns with ours: supporting fellow military families around the world. We love to spread our donations around to help as many different types of organizations as we can and each year we choose a different organization to give back to.
Giving Back in 2020
2020 started out like any other year, but quickly turned into one where we were all facing a global pandemic that impacted millions of families. From lost jobs, illness, caring for a sick family member, inability to pay for housing and food, and so much more. Not only did military families have to face their typical struggles of PCS or deployment, but the pandemic added a new level of stress and hardship.
Operation Homefront
When I was considering which organization to gift our 2020 charitable donation to, I was searching for a way to give back that would help with immediate needs of military families that were struggling to survive during the pandemic. I ran across an amazing organization that was doing just that – Operation Homefront.
Operation Homefront is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive — not simply struggle to get by — in the communities they have worked so hard to protect.
Meeting the Urgent Needs of Military Families
Operation Homefront’s Critical Financial Assistance program helps military families address critical financial shortfalls. From assistance with mortgage payments, rent, utilities, car repairs, home repairs, overdue bills, critical baby items, and groceries, Operation Homefront helps struggling families meet their immediate needs.

With the COVID pandemic, many families faced additional challenges, forcing them to stay home resulting in lost jobs and family income. Operation Homefront’s Urgent Needs Program helps these struggling families through charitable donations that go directly to the families.
Giving Back to Three Military Families in Need
As I scanned the list of families in the Urgent Needs Program, I realized that our Community’s 2020 donation could immediately help three military families with housing, food, and income needs that were all due to the pandemic. My family has been blessed with so much over the years both within and outside the military community and it is not only an honor but a privilege to be able to give back and help fellow military families in need.
Charliemadison Originals Community Gives Back
I talk about our company’s charitable donations all year long, but when the day for giving back comes and I get to click the “send” button and gift that money to an organization, I am very emotional. When we first started giving back six years ago, our very first donation was just $50 and it didn’t seem like we made much of an impact.
But with time, perseverance, and an incredible Community filled with fellow military families, we’ve been able to make an impact even on a small scale. With the amazing support of our Community, as of December 2020 we’re honored to have given back over $13,000 to the military community.
Thank you for believing in our company and our mission. You are the reason our charitable contributions grow every single year. I take this responsibility to heart and will continue to search for organizations like Operation Homefront that are making an impact for military families around the world.
